[re]fractal was on display on Hofstra’s campus in October and November. The structure was designed and constructed as part of the “Building the Next Engineers” project. In early 2022, a conceptual design was selected among a set of designs generated by high school students during a two-day workshop. Then, a team of practitioners refined the design and developed the fabrication and construction plan. Finally, on October 8, the structure was built by the practitioners and a team of volunteers including Hofstra students. The project was a collaboration with Scale Rule, Grimshaw Architects, and schlaich bergermann partner. The project was made possible by the SEI Futures Fund in collaboration with the ASCE Foundation.

For additional information you can visit Scale Rule’s website, view the project book, and read an article on Hofstra’s website.
