OverSEAS Program
Today, the world is increasingly interconnected. As an engineer, that means there are exciting opportunities to put your technical expertise to use both locally and abroad. Since engineering projects are not purely technical endeavors, taking a series of liberal arts courses focused on the language, history, and culture of a country in which you work can help prepare you to develop more appropriate solutions for the communities being served.
The OverSEAS Program provides students with a real-world capstone design project in Central or South America. Students learn the technical skills needed to complete the project through courses taken in the DeMatteis School of Engineering and Applied Science. They develop cultural literacy through a liberal arts concentration offered by the Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
